Shingles elderly
Have you ever had chickenpox? After exposure to chickenpox,
the virus that virus (varicella-zoster) is caused in the body, residing
in certain nerve cells. This virus can become active again in the form of a
disease called shingles which results in pain and blisters. The elderly
are particularly at risk of developing shingles. It is important that
older people and those involved in the care of older people know about shingles.
